The English Cottage British Import Shop & Tea Room Welcome to the website of The English Cottage. This tea shop is currently unestablished in any given location, but that doesn't mean it is unestablished in our hearts. As such, I have decided to put up the website and the current library collection of the shop. “While we will not stop you from bringing your drinks into the book area, we do discourage it. YOU SPILL ON IT, YOU BUY IT.” The English Cottage is dedicated to being a warm and friendly place, and to being as green as possible while we do that. We encourage reading by letting customers read while they enjoy their beverage of choice- and of course, we have a library collection available to those unable or unwilling to purchase a book at the time. (We do not permit the possible damage to books we are trying to sell, as you can tell by the sign post quoted above.) “Due to the green efforts of this establishment, we will not use any
more trash than necessary to create and serve our tea. Tea bags are
only used for customers leaving the shop with their tea. Other than
that, everything is washed and reused. As part of this policy, unless
you bring your own mug, it is necessary to purchase a travel mug with
your to-go orders. Please help our efforts by emptying your tea balls
into the provided compost bins before depositing in the silverware bin.
